I like how the characters in this book come from such different walks of life from the characters in the previous books and yet they dovetail in so well with the overarching story arc. They were interesting people, even the “Bad Guys.” I was a little surprised at how some of the plot threads resolved, but agree the characters stayed true to themselves.
The overarching series plot is well advanced. It stays epic. The reveals are not universe changing, but good reveals of new information. This book also takes a look back at the events in the first two and gives them some more perspective.
My only complaint about this book is that the core characters from the previous books disappear almost completely. They are at best secondary characters and honestly, they lean toward background/passing references. And that’s fine, but I’m looking forward to getting back to more adventures of the crew of the Rocinante.
But yeah, a very fun read.
